The effective NHS Non-Executive Director is an interactive one-day course specifically designed for aspiring, newly appointed and serving Non-Executive Directors of NHS Trusts and NHS provider organisations including Social Enterprises

NHS non-executiveThe course provides an essential grounding in corporate governance in the context of the NHS and wider healthcare provision during a period of great change.

In order to be effective members of an NHS or healthcare provider board, Non-Executive Directors need to fully understand their roles and responsibilities particularly with respect to the identification and management of risk, accountability, oversight, assurance and governance.

Recent high profile incidents such as Mid Staffordshire and Winterbourne View have thrown into the spotlight the important role that Non-Executive Directors have in ensuring that the needs of patients and service users are met in a safe, clinical environment. Using appropriate case studies, the course explores ways in which Non-Executive Directors can address these often sensitive and sometimes uncomfortable issues.

Registration Fees

Event / Course Fee: Select this option if you wish to pay by cheque or you require an invoice prior to payment.

Payment with Booking Fee: Select this option if you are able to pay by BACs or credit/debit card at the time of making the booking

Please note, whichever option you select, the booking is not complete until payment has been received. Once payment has been received you will be sent your course joining instructions and a VAT invoice as confirmation.

Course and Event Cancellation Policy

Places on courses and events are limited and we therefore operate a cancellation policy regarding refunds and transfers. Once you have received confirmation of your place on the course or event you will be liable for the whole fee unless we receive written notification of cancellation more than three weeks before the course or event date.

Written notification of cancellation can be sent via email to registration@executive-transitions.net or by post to Portfolio Careers Ltd, Banbury Road Business Centre, 166 Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 7BT. For bookings cancelled more than three weeks before the course or event, delegates will be able to change the date of their booking free-of-charge, or 100% of the fees that have been paid will be refunded. For bookings cancelled three weeks or less before the event, no refund will be made other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the course or event leader.

Please note that for bookings made three weeks or less before the event, the course or event fee will be non-refundable, other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the course or event leader. If a cancellation is made three weeks or less before a course or event, applicants will be able to book on a further course or event for an additional fee. This fee is non-refundable should the delegate then choose to cancel this booking. No refund will be made for non-attendance on the course or event.

In the case of cancellation of a course or event by Executive Transitions, we will endeavour to inform all participants at least two weeks before the course or event is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. In such a case, all course or event fees paid will be reimbursed in full, but we are unable to reimburse any other costs that may be incurred, such as flights or accommodation.

If dates have to be changed by Executive Transitions, delegates may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient.
